Our vision

A pantry that feels different

We are local volunteers from Harrogate Court and the wider DN12 area. We have seen neighbours struggle with food, energy and everyday costs, as well as how difficult it can be to ask for help.

We want the pantry to feel like a friendly local shop where people are greeted with warmth, treated with respect and able to choose food for themselves. It is not a handout. It is a place where people can walk through the door comfortably.

Privacy matters. Our one in, one out approach and volunteer privacy champions help members shop quietly and with dignity. An accessible mobile till counter also means wheelchair users can volunteer alongside everybody else.

Our longer term hope is to reduce isolation, keep good surplus food in the community and rebuild the everyday connections that help neighbours look out for one another.

Here when you need us

Meet our Pantry Champions

Sometimes life places us in crisis and difficult choices mean going without essentials. Susan and Fiona are trusted volunteers who offer a quiet, friendly and confidential point of contact when you need support.
